MANASO was selected by the Civil Society to host the EANNASOGIZ Back-up Health project called “Innovative Strategic Options for Strengthening Country Coordinating Mechanisms(CCMs) for Global Fund Grants. Coaching Civil Society and Community CCM Representatives for Increased Engagement in Anglophone Africa”.
GOAL
To implement the “Innovative Strategic Options for Strengthening Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs) for Global Fund Grants: Coaching Civil Society and Community CCM Representatives for Increased Engagement in Anglophone Africa”.
Objectives
- To build capacity of Civil Society (CS) and Community Groups to know the Global Fund (GF) and its processes, the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) and how to engage in the processes
- To build capacity of Civil Society (CS) and Community Groups to know the GF Grant, implementation arrangements and the role of CS and CG.
- To build capacity of Civil Society (CS) and Community Groups to participate in the GF Funding Request Writing.
Activities Planned and Implemented
- CS Capacity Building Workshops on GF Overview,
- Know Your Grant (all active grants),
- Oversight function and the role of CS on the CCM and CS not on CCMs in oversight;
- Co-Financing; Co financing commitments in Malawi and status.
- Development of community guides on
- Key things for focus on in Know Your Grant Portfolio
- (ii) Key Issues of Focus in grant Oversight.
- Development of framework agreements or protocols (MOUs) between CS &CGs and the national programmes of TB and Malaria Strategic Planning and review; to promote and institutionalize and ensure sustained dialogue throughout strategic planning and review processes
- Capacity Building workshop of CS and CG networks/umbrellas on coordination
